BDO in the community
Giving back to the community, wherever it is needed, is an important part of doing business at BDO. This philosophy is aligned with the values that we maintain as a firm and our desire to make a positive and enduring difference.
Our community involvements encompass both financial support and investment of our people’s expertise and time. We are committed to making a real difference to causes in the following areas:
As the fifth largest accounting and advisory firm in the world, BDO recognises how connected we all are – regardless of where we live. We would like to introduce you to one of our charities – Orana.
Orana & BDO
BDO SA support Orana in their fundraising and sponsorship activities. BDO SA’s support has included biannual sponsorship of Orana in the City to Bay, raising brand awareness and funds for South Australians living with disabilities.
For over 60 years, Orana has played a vital role in supporting South Australians living with disabilities.
Orana provides people with disabilities the opportunity to live and work within their local community, fulfill their dreams and become valued and productive community members.
Orana currently provide employment, accommodation and respite services to over 550 South Australians.
As part of the November/December Vacation program each year, BDO partners with a not for profit organisation to help out in the community for a day. In 2010-2011 BDO partnered with the Endeavour foundation to work alongside those with a disability in their daily jobs such as packing birdseed and labelling containers. This was a wonderful experience for all involved and we will be continuing to support not for profit organisations as part of this initiative on an annual basis.
