Experience

Michael commenced his professional career in the audit area in 1968 with Parkhill Lithgow & Gibson, before subsequently moving into their income tax field. He joined Duesburys as a Tax Manager in 1978, moving into their Insolvency and Corporate Recovery Division in 1979, and was appointed a Partner in 1981. In 1984 Duesburys merged with Ernst & Whinney, where Michael was appointed as Melbourne Divisional Director and National Director of Corporate Recovery Services, incorporating the Asia Pacific Region. Ernst & Whinney later merged with Arthur Young to become Ernst & Young. Michael joined Arthur Andersen as a Worldwide Partner in 1991 and became Service Line Leader for the Asset Management Division, a position he held for seven years. On 1 January 2003, Michael joined Horwath (now BDO Kendalls) following a merger with the boutique insolvency practice Sims Lockwood.
