The B-Well program is aimed at providing staff with a balanced and fun work environment. It's a great way for staff members to interact and socialise, inside and outside of work. The committee has been in place for the past four years and is a standard fixture within the firm. Having a committee enables us to ensure we have a balance and mix of activities to suite all ages and preferences. The list below is just a snapshot of some of the things the committee organises throughout the year.

The BDO Social Club is run for all employees of the practice and is another opportunity for partners and staff to interact outside of the normal working environment. Our social club organises many of the key functions for staff throughout the year including our end of financial year and Christmas parties. It means that at BDO we can keep the fun things going without losing focus. It is a part of our culture and the way we do things.

Your Voice
At BDO you have a voice. Our Your Voice program allows employees to be heard by management. We have an open environment, giving employees regular access to our partners. Our active Exchange Committee brings the views of employees to management. Each month our employee newsletter “In Focus” keeps you informed with what is happening around the office.
Our Community
We take great pride in fund raising and supporting community events. This is reflective in our sponsorship of Relay For Life and Festival Cairns. The Cancer Council Queensland’s Cairns Relay For Life has been well supported by our team for over three years. Our fund raising events, partners and staff have raised a significant amount for the cause. Festival Cairns is a cultural celebration of living in North Queensland. As a major partner of the Festival, both clients and staff have exclusive access to exciting and unique events.

We strongly believe that employees must maintain a healthy balance between work and life outside fo the office.
BWell
Our energising corporate health program demonstrates our understanding of health and vitality in the workplace. Therefore, we provide fresh fruit in the office every week, as well as access to annual flu vaccinations, health checks and regular in-house activities. These activities include pilates, exercise groups, health information, ergonomic workspaces and sponsorship opportunities for employee team sports. Our BWell committee regularly introduces new initiatives to promote wellness in the workplace.
Social

Trivia nights -
What does BDO stand for? The Trivia Night gives team members an opportunity to show off their BDO knowledge as well as their general knowledge, competing against other teams to be named Trivia Masters!
BDO idol -
Move over Australian idol, be prepared when we put a microphone in front of a BDO adviser!
Dragon boat racing -
As part of Chinese New Year celebrations, 22 paddlers take to the water in Darling Harbour to compete against other corporate teams. Always a fun (and wet) day!
City to Surf -
In August of each year, BDO Sydney puts together a team of runners (and walkers) to take part in the City to Surf, ending with a BBQ and a few drinks in a marquee on Bondi Beach.
Sporting competitions -
For the sports men and women of the firm, there are many sporting competitions to get involved in throughout the year, from the Aussie vs Rest of the World soccer match, to mixed netball, cricket and swimming.
Cheese & wine tasting -
For an evening of class and sophistication, we annually invite a wine and cheese expert to speak to members of our social club about different products and provide some delicious samples.
