An increase in client demand has driven the key hire of Belinda Cheesewright as a new tax partner in Melbourne at BDO Australia.
David Garvey, Managing Partner, BDO Melbourne, said “Belinda is an exceptionally experienced tax adviser across a range of industries. She has a proven track record in providing clients with strategic tax solutions and will make a significant contribution to the team.”
Belinda has over 13 years’ experience at KPMG, most recently as tax director in the deal advisory and corporate tax advisory teams. She has advised on many large and complex Australian restructure projects, IPOs, acquisitions for Australian taxpayers and foreign inbound investors, divestment of foreign subsidiaries and structuring of foreign investments. She was also responsible for large tax compliance engagements.
David added “Belinda was attracted by our firm-wide flexible working practices, which are part of our disciplined efforts to support the career success of women at BDO.”
This appointment is another step forward in the demand for BDO’s technical expertise in taxation and will allow the firm to further strengthen its offering for both public and private sector clients.
