For every accountant CA stands for Chartered Accountant but to me it stands for Commercial Acumen. Sure there are technical elements to every piece of work you do and you need to be on top of them but what really adds value to the clients is thinking outside the square – and it is your own commercial acumen that can bring this to the forefront of your client’s experience with the firm.

Out of the box

For me, BDO operates outside of the box just in terms of the work environment it has created. The environment fosters support from the highest levels of the organisation down to the graduates coming into the firm. The partnership group trust each other and support each other and that filters through the entire firm.
