Brisbane professional services firm BDO Kendalls has announced the appointment of two new  associates to their Brisbane office. 

Scott Rowan has been appointed an associate in the Growth Services Consulting division and  Bridget McKinlay an associate in the Audit & Assurance division.

Mr Rowan uses his combined skill set of Chartered Accounting and Information Systems  expertise to advise his clients on how to setup and manage their information systems to report on  the key performance measures of their business.

Mr Rowan's experience has highlighted that many businesses set strategic goals, but then fail to  monitor their performance towards those goals on a regular basis. Often this is because the  business' systems are not structured or capable of providing the information needed to make  decisions.

He has expertise assisting clients with structuring and integrating their data sources to deliver  effective and efficient solutions that deliver information where it is needed, when it is needed.

His experience covers system analysis, design, development and implementation; strategic  advice; process reviews; security reviews; disaster planning advice and project management.

Ms McKinlay's areas of expertise include auditing financial statements and the review of internal  controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley reviews.

dth of experience includes working internationally for the BDO office in New York as part  of an international exchange.

Ms McKinlay has strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills and carries out the  audit of a variety of companies, including listed public companies, multinationals and large  proprietary companies.

Her expertise encompasses several industries, including casinos and gaming, hospitality and  tourism, hotel and venue management, manufacturing, and colleges and schools. She has a welldeveloped  understanding of legislative requirements, complex legal and business frameworks  and computer-assisted audit techniques.
