Brisbane professional services firm BDO Kendalls will hold a Budget Briefing on May 10 to focus on the likely impact of the 2007-2008 Budget on businesses and individuals.
Brian Richards, BDO Kendalls partner, says the Budget Briefing will cut through thepolitical-speak and economic commentary to explain the key components of the Budget.
'After the significant changes made to retirement incomes policy and small business capital gains tax concessions in the 2006-2007 Budget, it may be hard to believe that the2007-2008 Budget could include substantial taxation reform measures.' Mr Richards says.
'However particularly as this is an election year, the Government could surprise us. There might, for example be some specific attention given to the research & developmenttaxation concessions.'
The Budget Briefing, to be presented by Mr Richards, is part of BDO Kendalls’ National Tax Briefing Series – technical seminars designed to keep businesses and individuals up-todateon tax issues.
Mr Richards says the seminars are held bi-monthly across Australia and focus on issuestopical within the tax world.
'The Tax Briefings seminars are designed to minimise your time commitment but maximise your knowledge of the impact of tax developments on your business and personal affairs,' Mr Richards says.
