Forensic accounting demystified at BDO Kendalls breakfast briefings
Brisbane professional services firm BDO Kendalls will hold a series of Breakfast Briefing sessions designed to give participants a better understanding of the area of forensicaccounting.
Lisa Bundesen, BDO Kendalls partner, says the first session, Demystifying Forensic Accounting,will provide an overview of the key areas within forensic accounting.
'Forensic accounting encompasses dispute resolution and fraud prevention and investigation and other services such as computer forensics, data analysis and criminaldefence, Ms Bundesen says.
'At the first Breakfast Briefing session, we will look at the key elements of forensic accounting and provide an introduction to each area from an accounting perspective.
The monthly Breakfast Briefings will run until October, with future sessions exploring topics such as Reading and Understanding Financial Statements, Assessing Insurance Claims, Assessing Personal Injury Claims and Investigating Fraud.
Participants will be provided with session notes and additional supporting documents such as checklists and working papers.
BDO Kendalls can conduct the sessions in-house if preferred and also offer a comprehensive Lawyers Training Program.
