Brendan has over 10 years experience in public practice and during this time he has been working with clients from a wide range of industries including retail sales, property development, share traders and investors, primary production, food producers, government water infrastructure and professional practices. He has provided assistance in areas including tax defensive structures, cash flow forecasting, taxeffective planning, trust cloning & splitting, business management advice, and due diligence.

Brendan strongly believes that relationships are the greatest investment and therefore prefers to operate on a more personal level when assisting clients with their relevant issues. Brendan has also developed strong relationships within the banking and financing industry as a result of his specialisation of tax related investment issues.

Key assignments

• Water Infrastructure Project - Contracted to the QLD State Government to assist in management of one of the water infrastructure projects
• Business purchase negotiations - Due diligence procedures for the purchase of an engineering and professional services firm including identification of the obscure business risks from the target acquisitions trading history
• Tax Mitigation - Author of a number of private rulings and successfully assisted a number of corporate groups in relation to tax reviews and audits
• Profitability issues - Detailed review of the costs driving a food manufacturer and modelling of appropriate margins.
• Trust splitting - Succession planning is a critical issue facing all businesses. Trust cloning & splitting assisted in ensuring the wealth passed to the next generation with no adverse tax consequence.
