Mal has over 35 years experience in Public Practice accounting and auditing, starting his professional career in Western Australia. He moved to Darwin in 1980 and commenced the practice in Darwin now known as BDO.

While his main role at present is the managing partner of BDO, he also handles many of the firms high wealth clients and their company groups, and is an advisor to growing businesses and the people that manage them. In this role as advisor to growing businesses, Mal has managed to achieve the following for the clients he has worked with:

• Being actively involved in clients businesses, thereby developing greater understanding of their organisation and the industry in which they operate
• Assisting with raising finance, tax planning, development of systems and business structuring
• Helping businesses grow and improve through each stage of their life cycle
• Helping clients understand the dynamics and drivers of their business and applying that within their organisations
