Stephen interacts nationally & internationally with the wider BDO network of technology assurance & advisory professionals to ensure appropriate expertise, technical resources, and tools are available to local client assignments.
Stephen has broad governance, risk management & compliance experience across many industries including manufacturing, financial services, insurance, gaming and Government. His recent focus has been on Board appointments, and expansion of the internal audit profession in Australia and globally. His passion is technology risk issues, and the value technology can bring to an organisation.
Stephen has significant information technology assurance & advisory experience specialising in information technology governance, risk, and compliance. As well as Australia, Stephen has led global delivery of internal audit in Japan, United Stated, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. He has supported international external audit services across 12 countries in Asia, and has been a Business Cycle Leader and Subject Matter Expert for global Expenditure and Fixed Asset work in 140 countries. He has performed major IT security and IT forensic projects, and has been a practice leader for technology assurance & advisory work for over 10 years.
He is an international member of the Institute of Internal Auditor’s Professional Issues Committee, focusing on global technology guidance for the internal audit profession and a recent international reviewer of the Information Systems Audit & Control Association’s 2012 CISA Review Manual and Oracle E Business Reference Guide. Stephen has presented papers nationally and internationally on his work.
