Tim Kendall - Partner

Experience

Tim has worked in the chartered accounting profession since 1985 and has been a partner since 1994. He is a specialist in the audit and assurance area and has extensive experience in the audit of clients from a wide range of industries including retailing, manufacturing, mining, financial institutions and insurance.

A large number of these are very large private companies or listed on the ASX. Tim has a particular focus on the financial services industry. He is very experienced in the retail banking sector and is currently the partner responsible for the audit of a number of credit unions and building societies. His financial services experience also includes lead partner roles in the superannuation and insurance sectors including superannuation funds with over $1.5 billion in funding under management. As well as been a registered company auditor Tim is approved by APRA as an Approved Insurance Company Auditor.

As an audit and assurance partner Tim’s role includes forming opinions on the truth and fairness of financial reports, preparation of expert reports for prospectuses, audit services in respect of the prudential standards issued by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and technical advise on risk management systems. He also provides clients with advice in relation to interpretation of accounting standards and practical solutions to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.

Tim is also the partner in charge of the Brisbane audit and assurance division and is a member of the BDO National Assurance Committee and the BDO International Audit and Accounting Steering Committee.
