Ross Byrne - Director

Experience

Ross commenced his career with a large Hobart accounting firm in 1972 and completed an Economics Degree part-time. After a short time in Victoria with a 'big six' firm he was appointed Resident Manager of their Hobart operations in 1978 and returned home. In 1983 Ross became a partner in a Tasmanian four partner practice with national representations. The firm grew over a number of years and Ross was appointed Managing Partner of the expanded eight partner firm in 1987. In 2001 the firm restructured and joined a public company accounting group and Ross was appointed the Managing Principal. Ross joined Horwath in 2005 to focus on audit, fraud consulting, corporate governance and strategic planning with a particular focus on profit improvement within business, and consequently became a Director of BDO when the two firms merged in 2007.
