Our History
BDO Brisbane has a Queensland heritage dating back more than 100 years:
1914 – Kennedy Bowly & Manson
After several years as a sole practitioner, Rex Don Kennedy commenced partnership with Charles Bowly and Eric George Manson.
1967 – Kendalls
Noel Kendall commenced as a sole practitioner and began a very early association with the credit union movement.
1989 – Kendalls KBM
Kendalls and Kennedy Bowly & Manson merged to become KBM.
1999 – BDO Kendalls
Kendalls KBM and BDO Nelson Parkhill's Queensland partnership merged to form BDO Kendalls. This established the firm as one of the largest professional service firms in Queensland.
2002 – BDO Kendalls
Horwath (Brisbane) and BDO Kendalls officially merged to form the largest Queensland-owned firm and the fourth largest accountancy practice.
2009 – BDO
Globally, the network rebranded to become known as BDO.
2012 – BDO
BDO and PKF Brisbane integrated to create an even stronger force in the Sunshine State.
2014 – BDO
The KPMG Sunshine Coast office merged with BDO.
2019 – BDO
BDO in Brisbane joined forces with Consolid8, a leading cloud accounting and business advisory firm, as part of its continued strategy to drive and foster innovation in service delivery.
2020 – BDO
BDO in Brisbane (including the Sunshine Coast), and ECP (Sydney and Melbourne) merged as the first phase of becoming one firm in Australia.
