Ryan is an Audit & Assurance Partner with BDO in Sydney and currently leads the National Manufacturing & Wholesale sector. Ryan brings over 15 years of experience within the profession, both in Sydney and London. He has significant experience providing audit, assurance and advisory services to his clients, including a number of ASX listed and large proprietary companies with global operations across a broad range of sectors. Specifically, Ryan’s passion is within the Manufacturing & Wholesale sector, looking to connect clients in this space to services that will assist them in growing their business and help them solve problems they may come across on a day-to-day basis. Ryan shows a genuine interest in his clients’ business – being aware of their needs and goals, and building relationships with open communication and trust.
- Michael Sharpe – AMGC National Director Of Industry
Michael joined the AMGC in 2017 and is the National Director – Industry, bringing vast industrial experience, serving in numerous senior roles leading up to his AMGC Directorship. He has served as Managing Director at Sharpe Bros (Australia), one of the nation’s leading road companies. He was also on the board of HunterNet, a successful industry clustering initiative in the Hunter and Central Coast Region and served as Chairman for a one-year period. Michael was also a Board Member at the Central Coast Local Health District, providing experience and insight for development of the governance framework and the philanthropy procedures for medical research. Michael applies his leadership and networking experience to his current AMGC role, engaging with industry across Australia. This includes linking partnerships among the country’s manufacturers and research facilities which is vital for creating high-value jobs and products through collaborative projects.
- Dylan Byrne – BDO Business Services Partner
Dylan has more than 20 years’ experience advising manufacturing and associated businesses, as well as providing strategic planning, growth planning, taxation and broad-based business advisory services. His clients have included specialty, high value manufacturers, Agricultural supply chain businesses, with a particular focus on high growth businesses. Planning for growth and future funding events, including exit planning, is of particular interest. Dylan also has a special interest in Environmental Sustainability issues and assists many companies with feasibility planning for renewable energy projects including Waste to Energy projects. Dylan is a big advocate for Advisory Boards and assists several clients with implementing boards as part of their governance program.
- Nicola Purser – BDO R&D Tax & Government Incentives Partner
Nicola leads the Research and Development (R&D) and Government Incentives team at BDO Australia. Nicola has a depth of expertise in national and international R&D incentive programs, and sits on BDO’s global centre of excellence for R&D. In addition to advice and claim preparation, Nicola supports financial investment decisions by modelling R&D benefits over the life of projects. Nicola is acknowledged as a leading R&D tax advisor, having presented to various bodies on R&D incentives and innovation policies in Australia. Over the past 17 years, Nicola has gained extensive, firsthand experience across tax and incentives. In 2011, she joined BDO to lead the national tax team. Prior to joining BDO, Nicola led R&D teams with two, big four firms.
