25 February 2020
BDO Australia has announced a new National Leader for Private Equity (PE), as the firm grows to over 200 Partners nationally with revenues of $299.17m in 2019.
Sebastian Stevens, Corporate Finance Partner in Sydney will lead BDO’s growing team of consultants providing a full range of audit, tax, and advisory services to Private Equity (PE) firms, portfolio companies, funds, and investors.
BDO is currently ranked as the number one advisor to PE and Venture Capital globally according to the Pitchbook M&A advisor league table (2018).
BDO Sydney Office Managing Partner, Grant Saxon said: “The private equity market is a natural fit for BDO, with private equity investment in Australia concentrated around growth businesses and technology companies.
“We have deep relationships within the PE market and our knowledge and experience allows us to understand what motivates PE firms, funds and investors across almost every industry sector of the economy.
“Sebastian is an experienced Corporate Finance professional, having worked on some high profile PE backed transactions in recent years, particularly in the US tech sector. This includes last year’s listing of Life360, a location-sharing mobile application for families. The market cap on listing was $689million AUD.”
Newly announced National Leader for Private Equity, Sebastian Stevens commented: “I’m proud to be leading BDO’s PE team which has a significant track-record on buy and sell side transactions.
“Now more than ever, there is much more complexity and competition in the private equity space with traditional PE investors as well as technology focussed venture capital and global pension and sovereign wealth funds looking for opportunities.
“For us, it’s about matching the needs of growing companies as well as helping PE firms find the right deals to deliver the rates of return and growth that they and their funders are looking for.”
