Queensland business tech boom boosts BDO risk advisory team

Greater investment in technology by Queensland organisations looking to boost their bottom line by enhancing operational efficiencies has prompted BDO to strengthen its Brisbane Risk Advisory team.
Brisbane-based business systems and performance improvement specialist Sharee Bartlett has joined BDO as a Risk Advisory Partner to help meet the increasing demand for governance and IT risk-related services.
BDO National Leader, Risk Advisory Services, Marita Corbett said Sharee’s specialist skills complement the firm’s risk management credentials and track record for balancing business strategy and risk.
“A range of factors, including Queensland’s recent negative economic growth, are fuelling a clear shift in focus amongst Queensland businesses to minimise costs and increase productivity, often through technology-based solutions,” Ms Corbett said.
“However, many businesses are still coming to grips with the impacts and benefits of technology platforms, as well as strategies to secure company and customer data following a series of high-profile breaches.
“Sharee’s skill set combines internal audit, IT and risk management expertise, to help guide Queensland businesses through these issues, from review to implementation and management, and maximise strategies for growth.
“She has more than 15 years of experience in professional services, including in a Big 4 environment, and has held recent appointments with organisations in the financial services, mining and NFP sectors, as well as government.”
Sharee holds both a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and Bachelor of Information Technology (Information Systems).
