Neil Billyard

Neil is a Tax partner with BDO in Sydney. His clients appreciate his engaging style, benefitting from a thorough understanding of their issues and quality, timely outcomes.

As an experienced tax specialist, Neil has worked with clients including large ASX listed corporate groups, through to private family enterprises. He has consulted with the Australian Government and Treasury on a variety of international tax reform issues, culminating in the introduction of the ‘foreign hybrid’ rules and broadening of exemptions for repatriated foreign dividends. This included debating tax policy and technical input into the drafting of legislation. Neil is a sought after speaker and regular presenter of technical papers for the Taxation Institute of Australia and Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Neil joined BDO, as Partner, in 2014. He has over 26 years' experience advising clients, on a range of domestic and international taxation issues, while working with global accounting firms. He has held several leadership positions including lead partner of International Corporate Tax, China Tax Practice, and People, Performance & Culture.
