Managing Partner

Greg Wiese is the Managing Partner of BDO (SA). Greg joined BDO after holding positions in Johannesburg and London and was admitted to the partnership in 1988 before becoming Managing Partner in 2011.

He became State Director of the Assurance Services division in 1990 and subsequently has developed the firm’s Corporate Finance Division.

Greg is also Managing Director of BDO Corporate Finance (SA) Pty Ltd, a holder of an Australian Financial Services Licence.

Key assignments

• Assistance to the South Australian Government in examining commercial proposals for viability and modelling integrity and assisting the Government’s negotiations with private operators.
• Reviews of models for application for State and Federal Government assistance including Broadband Development Fund.
• Preparation of reports on business viability and competition effects for Federal Government Industry assistance.
• Valuation of shares in a large family company with a number of independent divisions. Particular issues included the significance of discounts for minority shareholdings and the appropriateness of using valuations of composite undertakings.
• Valuation of a business pursuant to a corporate shareholder agreement. Requiring interpretation of complex clauses in the agreement and working in conjunction with the instructing solicitors.
