Nicola is a Partner in the Indirect Tax team and leads the Brisbane Research and Development (R&D) practice area.

She has hands-on experience in delivering R&D Tax Concession advice to clients, having led R&D teams in two international accounting firms.

Over the past 14 years, Nicola has worked across a broad range of industries in both Australia and the United States of America. As a result, she has a depth of expertise in national and international R&D incentive programs and a proven ability to manage the delivery of large claim engagements.

Key assignments

• Delivery of some of Australia’s largest and most complex R&D engagements
• Successful management of Australian Taxation Office and AusIndustry reviews and audits, including liaison with Government officers in relation thereto
• Modelling of R&D benefits over life of projects for inclusion in financial investment decisions
• Preparation of successful grant applications including under the Start, Commercial Ready and Climate Ready programs
• Numerous presentations to various bodies on R&D incentives including presenting on the proposed R&D Tax Credit at the 2010 Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia Business Forum
