Tim is the partner responsible for the Risk advisory services division in Brisbane and is the joint National Director of BDO Risk advisory services. Tim is a chartered accountant and certified internal auditor with 21 years experience specialising as an auditor. He has undertaken external and internal audits for financial institutions, superannuation funds, local government, stage government departments, agencies and statutory bodies.

Tim is also the Auditor General’s delegate on a number of public sector statutory audits. Tim has extensive knowledge of internal audit, risk management and corporate governance matters.

Key assignments

• Financial services – extensive experience in providing risk advisory services to credit union and superannuation funds. This includes internal and external audit, accounting advice, review of risk management systems and computer audit
• Local government – internal audit services are provided to a number of local governments in Queensland. Services include review of compliance with Local Government Act, Regulations and Finance Standards, in addition to operational and performance reviews
• University – facilitated the implementation of risk management framework consistent with the Australian Standard AS/NZS 4360: Risk Management
