BDO WA expands Advisory team

21 January 2019

BDO WA continues to expand its multi-disciplinary advisory offerings with the appointment of Courtney Gibson as Executive Director, Advisory and Sam Moody as Executive Director, Cyber Resilience.

Courtney Gibson is highly regarded in the Australian market with over 25 years of corporate advisory and forensic accounting experience, and is respected for his commerciality and pragmatism when advising local and international corporate and government organisations on sensitive forensic matters and transactions. Having led over 200 sensitive engagements, Courtney has provided expert advice to a number of WA’s largest commercial disputes, key commercial transactions and organisations facing business and regulatory challenge.

Sam Moody is the WA Head of the Australian Women in Security Network, Board Director for ISACA, and was the youngest candidate nominated for the 2018 40under40 awards. Sam’s involvement with a vast range of tactical and strategic security projects across all sectors has given her direct insight to the fundamental factors and success of organisations who proactively manage information security risk. Sam’s role will be integral to filling a clear gap in the WA market, with a strong focus on meeting the demand from existing clients who already entrust BDO as their expert business advisor.

Peter Toll, BDO WA’s Managing Partner, said ‘the addition of Courtney and Sam to the Advisory team allows us to meet the increased client demand for expert capability. It complements our multi-disciplinary advisory offerings as cyber risk and regulatory pressures become more prevalent, and client issues increasingly complex.’

With the ever changing technology and regulatory environment, the appointment has added further strength to BDO WA’s Advisory service line which encompasses Risk Advisory, Forensic Services, Cyber Security and Corporate Advisory.
