BDO is a trusted adviser to clients seeking Audit, Tax and Advisory services. As one of the world’s leading Audit and Accounting organisations, we have clients of all types and sizes from large corporate organisations to private businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals across an array of industry sectors. 

From a global beginning in 1963 with five original member firms in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, the USA and Canada, BDO in Australia was established as an association of firms in 1975.

Today, BDO now extends across 167 countries and territories, and in Australia we are one of the country's largest associations of independently owned accounting practices with offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and the Sunshine Coast.

We’re working towards a strong future as a global organisation built on local relationships.  

What does BDO stand for? 

BDO stands for Binder Dijker Otte. In 1973, the British, German and Dutch member firms adopted a common name whose acronym has endured for the entire global network. That name was Binder Hamlyn (UK) Dijker & Co (Holland) Otte & Co (Germany).

Giving back to the community is an important part of what we do at BDO. Our community involvement includes both financial support and our people’s expertise and time for organisations and causes. We provide pro bono support to various clients, and our offices run workplace giving programs to selected charities. Our workplace giving is guided by four principles:
