New Tax Partner joins BDO Melbourne office from Deloitte Private

22 October 2020

This week the BDO Melbourne office welcomes new Tax Partner Matthew O'Byrne, who joins the firm from Deloitte Private.

Throughout Matthew’s career he has provided complex tax advice to wealthy families and their private businesses, with a focus on the real estate and retail sectors. Matthew is highly experienced at advising a broad range of private businesses and their owners to effectively manage domestic and international tax affairs.

BDO Office Managing Partner in Melbourne, David Garvey, said Matthew’s appointment is well timed as the firm experiences increased demand from family businesses, private companies and high-net-worth clients.

“Tax is a constant growth area for BDO nationally and this growth is being accelerated as businesses navigate their way through COVID-19,” David said.

“Our focus is on ensuring our clients are in the best position to deal with the challenges presented by the COVID-19 crisis, but that they’re also prepared to embrace the opportunities the post-COVID-19 environment will present,” he said.

“Matthew has a proven track record building a strong network of high-net-worth clients and advising some of Australia’s wealthiest families and their businesses. BDO looks forward to offering Matthew’s expertise to our current clients, especially those in the real estate and retail sector,” he said.
