Prior to joining BDO in 2019, he was a Manager in the Deals Consulting team for a global accounting firm and an investment associate at an Australian mid-market private equity and boutique investment advisory firm. His expertise includes detailed strategic portfolio reviews across trade sale, IPO, joint venture and demerger options, in addition to legal and regulatory analysis, customer impact analysis and management presentation support. He also specialises in the evaluation of opportunities for core private equity investment in businesses throughout Australia & New Zealand.
Mark’s deep understanding of the buy-side market comes from his experience as a hedge fund investment consultant at one of the world’s leading independent investment advisory firms, with over $550bn of funds under advice across over 300 institutional clients. Mark’s core focus here was to provide advice to institutional investors on the relative merits of global multi-strategy, event driven and activist hedge funds for their portfolios. Before this, Mark was an associate at a $15bn global long-short hedge fund.
