ED 339 Risk Mitigation Accounting (Proposed amendments to AASB 9 and AASB 7) |
Proposes a new risk mitigation accounting model designed to better represent in the financial statements how entities manage the repricing risk arising from their underlying portfolios of financial instruments. This will result in amendments to AASB 9 Financial Instruments and AASB 7 Financial Instruments: Disclosures and the withdrawal of AASB 139 Financial Instruments: Recognition and Measurement and its optional hedge accounting requirements. The model aims to provide greater transparency into how interest rate risk management affects financial performance and future cash flows in a dynamic environment. These activities have previously been referred to as macro hedging and dynamic risk management. |
