BDO advised Hill & Smith PLC (Hill & Smith), a Midlands, United Kingdom, headquartered FTSE 250 listed group, on the disposal of its Australian road safety rental business HS Roads to Onsite Rental Group (Onsite Rentals).

Established in 2011, HS Roads provides high-quality, market-leading steel and concrete road barrier and safety solutions to Tier 1 customers in Australia and New Zealand.

Part of Sime Darby’s industrial division, Onsite Rentals is a leading specialist industrial equipment rental company. The acquisition of HS Roads enhances Onsite Rentals’ traffic management offering to include road safety solutions, temporary barriers and crash cushions, aligning with its national growth strategy.

BDO brought a multi-jurisdictional team to the transaction led by Tony Schiavello, Australian Head of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), and John Stephan, Global Head of M&A, supported by Directors, Lachlan Cantwell and Matthew Goodliffe, who managed the successful transaction on behalf of Hill & Smith.

BDO has recently supported Hill & Smith with several transactions as the group focuses on its core operations in the United Kingdom and North America.
