Our deal advisory team is proud to provide exclusive buy-side merger & acquisition (M&A) advisory services to Sonic Civil Investments (Sonic) on its acquisition of Stornoway, a leading Tasmanian infrastructure maintenance and management services provider.
Stornoway has over 50 years of experience, delivering road and bridge maintenance, asset management, water and wastewater treatment, traffic management and specialist access services across Tasmania and Queensland.
Sonic is an employee-owned Tasmanian civil infrastructure services group whose portfolio includes key operating subsidiaries Shaw Contracting and Hardings Group, enhancing its end‑to‑end civil capability through the acquisition of Stornoway.
BDO’s deal advisory team, led by partner, Silvio Colaluca, provided market pricing, acquisition modelling, valuation, deal structuring, investment case development, and supported negotiation of transaction agreements.
The transaction unites two leading Tasmanian businesses to form one of the state’s largest full lifecycle civil infrastructure services groups. The combined business will service State and Local Government as well as Tier 1 Enterprise clients and is expected to grow to more than 450 employees.
