We are pleased to announce a second session of our "BDO tax Boardroom session - Managing tax risk pre- and post-transaction" with Gareth Redenbach of the Victorian Bar as our keynote speaker for Tuesday 26 August at 8.45am - 10.30am in our Melbourne office.
Our tax boardroom sessions provide a great opportunity for Heads of Tax, CFOs and senior finance members from multi-national organisations to come together in a format that fosters open discussions and the exchange of insights on relevant tax matters.
We are pleased to welcome Gareth Redenbach of the Victorian Bar as our keynote speaker for this session. Gareth is a leading barrister in taxation, commercial and equity matters and has advocated in the High Court, Full Federal Court, and Victorian Court of Appeal. He advises both taxpayers and the Commissioner of Taxation on the conduct of matters, and regularly presents at IFA, TIA and ABA conferences in Australia and overseas on complex and cross-border tax issues.
Gareth will share observations and provide practical strategies, based on from his recent experiences assisting taxpayers with managing complex tax matters, when considering the various options available for managing tax risks associated with significant transactions both pre and post the transaction. He will also include his views on the options for early engagement with Counsel and engaging with the ATO including ATO audits, early engagement, and tax ruling processes.
This session will provide insightful and effective alternatives for consideration when assessing how you may approach contemporaneous tax risk management for significant or potentially contentious transactions and observations on emerging challenges for corporate taxpayers in the current tax landscape within Australia.
Gareth will welcome questions at the end of the session (which concludes at 10.00am), and you will have the opportunity to network with colleagues and your BDO client service team over morning tea between 10.00am and 10.30am.
