BDO supports Sunwater across a range of major water infrastructure projects

Sunwater Limited (Sunwater) is a water service provider that supplies water to agricultural, urban, and industrial customers. It is a state-owned Queensland Government body that operates an extensive network of major water supply infrastructure and assets year-round to support customers across Queensland.

BDO has supported Sunwater on a range of major water infrastructure projects and business cases, including:

BDO's role

BDO has consistently been engaged as the financial and commercial adviser to Sunwater on business cases to:

• Engage closely and extensively with the project team, project sponsors, and other advisers to the project to develop and obtain the inputs, information, and understanding necessary to undertake our work
• Develop a risk-adjusted financial model to combine capital and operating project cash flows (including demand and pricing-linked revenues) with the capability to assess sensitivities and alternate scenarios and probabilistic risk modelling
• Conduct financial, commercial, and affordability analysis that aligns with the BCDF and draws on our experience in similar projects to ensure the project team are provided with the financial insights and information required to make an informed decision.

Project outcomes

Our extensive experience with Sunwater demonstrates in-depth familiarity with water infrastructure in Queensland, including major dams in regional Queensland. This relevant expertise encompasses the development of financial and cost-benefit models and the delivery of comprehensive financial and economic analyses, all presented in both chapter and report formats in accordance with the BCDF.
