BDO completes its full service expert national dealer practice with two automotive advisers from Del

Accounting and advisory firm, BDO in Australia, has announced the appointment of two experienced ex-Deloitte Motor Industry Services partners, Grant Cameron and Sam Venn, who will bolster their automotive offering in Sydney and Melbourne.

BDO’s national leader for automotive, Mark Ward, commented on the latest appointments in Sydney and Melbourne.

The addition of Grant and Sam to our national Automotive team is extremely exciting for BDO and our clients.

Joining BDO was a logical step for Grant and Sam who were first attracted to BDO given we already have a long standing, leading specialisation in the Automotive sector. Compelling for them was BDO’s focus on the retail dealerships themselves, the depth of services we provide and our genuine commitment to foster relationships which add value at every opportunity.

These appointments really do bring together nationally the most experienced industry advisors at a time when the pace of change has never been greater. We look forward to helping our clients navigate those changes together.

Grant Cameron joins BDO Sydney after leading Deloitte’s Motor Industry Services team for nine years, and spending over 25 years working with Australian and international dealers.

Retail motor dealers must have access to specialised, independent and uncompromised advice.

There are several current issues dealers are facing, and BDO’s national dealer only team are best placed to competently assist. Automotive retail dealers are at the heart of BDO’S Automotive offering, and we are energised by their focus to deliver good old fashioned service on a timely and proactive basis.

Having a clear nationally aligned purpose, in a large international firm that employs almost 2,000 staff in Australia, is something that I am really looking forward to.

After focusing on retail dealers in Deloitte’s Motor Industry Services team, Sam Venn joined BDO in January and will lead the BDO automotive team in Melbourne.

“After a career dedicated to working exclusively with Australian dealers, challenges in the automotive industry meant the timing was right to move to an environment that focuses wholly on dealers. As Mark has pointed out change has never been as fast or as broad, connecting our specialisation across these key geographies enables us to maximise the value we add to our clients.

I’m excited to leverage this capability in a firm that champions the private market, with extensive capability both within and outside of the automotive industry."
