Clark is an Audit Partner with BDO in Brisbane.

Clark is a specialist advisor on the implementation and implications of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).  This includes providing advice on the application of Accounting Standards and assisting clients in resolving their more complex accounting problems. He has prepared Expert Reports and Independent Determinations arising from disputes involving accounting matters. Clark is also an experienced auditor, having led the audit of large public, private, profit and not-for-profit entities.  For many years, he has provided presentations on financial reporting topics at both client and industry seminars.

Clark has over 30 years’ experience as a chartered accountant, auditor and advisor.

  • Government sector
    - Advice on accounting and financial reporting compliance to various councils and/or their auditors including recent changes in requirements.
    - Review of council and local government owned water corporation financial reports for compliance with financial reporting requirements, including Accounting Standard compliance.
    - Advice to various other government entities, including Government Owned Corporations, on a wide range of accounting issues including accounting for reorganisation and transfer of assets.

    - Advice on business combination accounting, including a reverse acquisitions and reorganisations.
    - Advice on accounting for divestment and/or demergers. - Advice on asset recognition and impairment.

    - Advice on compliance with accounting requirements on stapling of a listed entity with a property trust.

    - Assisted a newly formed public company in accounting for the merger of various entities and setting accounting policies for matters such as water rights, biological assets etc.
