  • Institutional capital/developers: Valuing a wide range of operating and development build-to-rent assets nationally for the purposes of mortgage lending, financial reporting, and acquisition due diligence.
  • Institutional capital: Managing the financial due diligence of key BTR portfolios to support capital raising efforts for institutional investors.
  • Developers: Preparing numerous market research reports, feasibility studies, and highest and best use analyses to support investment committee papers and due diligence engagements.
  • Developers: Guiding developers through the setup of BTR platforms, advising on rent assessments, financial model assumptions, fee benchmarking, and management structures.
  • Government: Advising on various housing programs incorporating BTR housing and advocating for relevant federal tax reform to allow the sector to facilitate greater housing diversity.

Transaction advisory

  • State government: Working with the State Government, as part of a team of transaction advisers for the BTR pilot programs, to establish project frameworks, define evaluation criteria, and shape commercial principles. Assisting in developing transaction documents and providing detailed market studies to support the program’s strategic direction.
  • Developers: Acting as the transaction adviser on a range of BTR transactions - including fund-through arrangements and land sales - which has involved preparing detailed market studies and marketing documentation, developing financial models to inform pricing expectations, drafting transaction documents, and managing stakeholder engagement throughout the transaction process.
