Lauren is a Director in BDO’s CFO Advisory practice, based in our Perth office, with experience spanning audit, CFO advisory and senior in-house technical accounting roles. Experience
Technical accounting advice (IFRS and A-IFRS)
- Advised on a broad range of matters including revenue recognition, impairment, business combinations, joint arrangements, accounting for cloud computing arrangements, leases and financial instruments.
Audit readiness, reporting and governance support
- Supported ASX‑listed, large private and government sector entities through complex year end reporting and audit processes, including preparation of statutory financial statements, technical accounting position papers and remediation of audit findings
- Advised management and Audit & Risk Committees on judgmental accounting areas, estimates and disclosures, and strengthened governance, documentation and controls to support audit ready financial and sustainability reporting, including emerging IFRS S2 and AASB S2 requirements.
Finance function improvement and transformation
- Supported large, complex organisations with uplift of finance functions, including improvements to statutory reporting, close processes, consolidation and governance frameworks
- Led financial close and reporting process mapping
- Advised on ERP implementations and accounting impacts, and developed group accounting policies to drive consistency across multidivisional environments
- Delivered targeted training to uplift technical capability and support sustainable, fit‑for‑purpose finance operations.
Sustainability and climate related financial reporting
- Supported organisations in adopting and implementing IFRS S2 and AASB S2, including defining appropriate reporting boundaries, climate scenario analysis, financial quantification of identified climate-related risks and opportunities, and drafting connected, decision useful disclosures
- Worked closely with finance, sustainability, risk and strategy teams to embed climate considerations into mainstream financial reporting, impairment analysis and business planning, ensuring climate reporting is integrated into existing processes and governance practices.
