Mark is a Director in BDO’s IFRS & Corporate Reporting team based in our Melbourne office. A Chartered Accountant and technical specialist in sustainability reporting, financial reporting standards and audit quality, he has extensive experience advising on complex financial reporting and sustainability reporting topics.

He has led technical reviews for ASX-listed companies, delivered organisation-wide training programs, and advised senior leaders on complex accounting, assurance and sustainability matters. Known for communicating complex reporting requirements clearly and effectively, Mark builds strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Sustainability reporting 

• Provided technical leadership on Australian sustainability standards, including AASB S1 and S2 
• Measured greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3 
• Conducted climate risk and opportunity assessments, including prospects assessments 
• Prepared qualitative scenario analysis to assess climate resilience 
• Quantified the current and anticipated financial effects of climate-related risks and opportunities 
• Prepared mandatory sustainability reports in compliance with AASB S2 
• Led reviews of sustainability reports to ensure accuracy, consistency and alignment with emerging reporting frameworks 
• Developed reporting methodologies, tools and frameworks to support regulatory compliance
