Privacy Collection Statement - Job applicants, employees, contractors
BDO collects personal information from you in order to process your employment, contract or secondment application, or as part of your on-boarding at BDO. This information may be collected by means of submitting a job application through CVMail, emailing BDO’s offices, speaking with a BDO representative or through any forms completed upon your commencement with BDO.
If you are applying for secondment from another BDO office to BDO Australia, BDO collects personal information from you in order to process your secondment application, arrange any visas or other relevant documentation for you and your partner and family (if applicable), organise travel and accommodation arrangements, process your pay and other entitlements, or as part of your on-boarding at BDO. We may collect this information including through your international secondment application form, speaking with anyone from a BDO office or any forms completed upon your commencement with BDO.
It is not feasible for BDO to deal with you as a candidate, employee, contractor or secondee to BDO by using a pseudonym or for you to keep your identity secret.
In some instances we may collect personal information from you which is unsolicited. To the extent reasonable, we will delete or de-identify any unsolicited personal information.
If BDO does not collect your personal information for the above purposes, then BDO will be unable to:
- process your application for employment or engagement;
- process your commencement as an employee or contractor;
- process your pay (including taxation, superannuation, leave entities) and other related functions;
- administer onsite treatment or contact your next of kin; and
- any other activities which are reasonably necessary in relation to your employment or engagement.
BDO may share your information with:
- BDO’s Related Bodies Corporate (as defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) throughout the BDO firm network, including if applicable to any overseas BDO office to which you may be seconded;
- BDO’s third party service providers who assist BDO in providing its products and services to you (such as marketing service providers, IT service providers, contractors and sales consultants);
- your financial institution, superannuation fund, referees, medical service providers, Government agencies (including, but not limited to the Australian Taxation Office, Centrelink and Child Support Agency);
- third parties in connection with any pre-employment checks or screenings; and
- any other organisation covered in BDO’s Privacy Policy.
It is possible that BDO may disclose some of your personal information to its Related Bodies Corporate or service providers outside of Australia. You consent to your information being disclosed to a destination outside Australia for this purpose, including but not limited to: Israel, Mauritius, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States and you understand and acknowledge that Australian Privacy Principle 8.1 will not apply to such disclosures of your personal information.
Our Privacy Policy sets out how you can access and correct any of your personal information and how you may make a complaint if you consider that we have not complied with the Privacy Act when handling your personal information.
