BDO announces 1 July 2026 partner and director promotions
BDO has announced 13 partner promotions from 1 July 2026, taking the firm’s total number of partner promotions this calendar year to 17 and lifting total partner numbers to 352.
The latest round of promotions comes as BDO continues to deliver strong financial performance. In FY25, BDO reported revenue of $606.5 million and, ahead of the formal release of FY26 results after 30 June, the firm is forecasting similar revenue growth again this year.
BDO chief executive partner, David Garvey, said the firm’s continued growth reflects client demand across all service lines and the strength of BDO’s investment in its people, culture and capability.
“BDO’s growth is driven by our unwavering investment in our people and culture, which strengthens our capability and continues to drive client demand,” said Mr Garvey.
“We’re seeing steady growth across all areas of the firm in audit, tax and advisory. Importantly, that growth is allowing us to keep investing in the next generation of leaders, specialists and advisers who will support our growing list of clients into the future.
“For us, sustainable growth means continuing to invest in our people, technology and quality while preserving the judgement, accountability and client focus that sits at the heart of professional services.”
The 1 July partner promotions follow four partner promotions announced in January 2026 and reflect BDO’s continued focus on developing internal talent and creating clear career pathways across the firm.
Following a period of significant partner growth, BDO hired fewer lateral partners this year (19), allowing the firm to focus on supporting newer partners, strengthening its culture and continuing to develop its internal talent pipeline.
Mr Garvey said the latest promotions showed confidence in BDO’s talent pipeline.
“Today’s announcement recognises the high calibre of people coming through our firm and the contribution they are making to our clients, our teams and our future,” said Mr Garvey.
“We are committed to supporting our people and providing tangible career development opportunities. Promoting 17 people to partner this (calendar) year is a strong demonstration of that commitment.”
BDO is also continuing to invest strongly in early-career talent. The firm is currently recruiting 180 graduate roles across its July 2026 and January 2027 intakes.
In addition, the firm launched its High School Leavers Program this year, with 10 participants who completed high school in 2025 joining the firm while studying the CA ANZ fundamentals program and undertaking paid work at BDO.
Mr Garvey said developing emerging talent remained critical to the future of both BDO and the broader professional services sector.
“Professional services is a people business. Technology will continue to change the way we work, but we still need people to exercise judgement, and develop communication skills, client capability and technical expertise,” said Mr Garvey.
“Our graduate and high school leaver programs are about giving talented people different entry points into the profession and supporting them to build meaningful, long-term careers.”
Director appointments were also announced on 1 July, further reinforcing the depth of talent across the firm and the strong future pipeline of professionals.
