BDO in Australia has announced David Garvey as its new Chief Executive Partner officially taking up the role today (1 December 2025).
Mr Garvey steps into the role at a pivotal time for the firm, bringing a steadfast commitment to people, culture and client service that has long defined BDO’s distinctive edge.
His leadership takes effect as BDO reports another record-breaking year, with revenue surpassing $600 million and an impressive 12 per cent year-on-year growth; well above industry benchmarks.
As the firm looks to the future, outgoing chief executive partner, Mr Tony Schiffmann, steps up to the BDO Global board chair position, ensuring continued strategic vision and leadership at the highest level.
BDO in Australia chair, Mr David Fagan commented on the change in leadership.

“David officially takes up the role of chief executive partner from today. He has been with the firm since 2012 and has recently transitioned from his role as OMP of our Melbourne office.
“David’s leadership style is defined by authenticity, agility, and a steadfast commitment to client success. He understands that our strength lies in our people, and he is passionate about continuing Tony Schiffmann’s work to foster a culture where our people thrive, ideas flourish, and partnerships deepen.
