Experience
- Waste infrastructure pre-feasibility and detailed business case: led the development of a financial model to assess the viability of an energy from waste (EfW) facility, including scenario analysis of ownership structures and facility sizing. Managed the development of the detailed business case aligned to government standards.
- Waste business unit cost modelling: developed a whole-of-system cost model to evaluate alternative waste treatment options, including residual, organics, and material recovery facility (MRF) technologies. Enabled long-term planning and investment prioritisation across all waste streams.
- Organics processing roadmap: development of the South-East Queensland (SEQ) Organics Processing Roadmap, working closely with 13 SEQ local governments and their respective elected officials, executive teams and waste managers. Led the development of a waste diversion model, assessing financial impact of introducing organics kerbside services and various technology options. Assessed optimal rollout strategy, service configurations, and council groupings.
- Alternative Waste Technology financial assessment: developed a scenario costing forecast model projecting whole-of-life costs for multiple public waste facilities. Assessed net benefits of alternative waste technologies and supported tender evaluation using scenario-based cost-benefit analysis.
- Transport and logistics optimisation: assessed optimal waste transportation methodologies, including the viability of using bulking transfer stations. Scenario analysis evaluated multiple waste streams and end processor locations to identify cost-effective and operationally efficient transport solutions.
