KSB Sustainable Investments acquires battery engineering business Master Instruments
KSB Sustainable Investments (KSB) is a joint venture between KSB Sustainable Investments and Salter Brothers.
KSB has acquired Master Instruments (MI), an Australian family-owned, third generation battery engineering and distribution business.
The transaction represents the first investment from KSB’s inaugural private equity fund, the KSB Transition Fund (KTF). KTF targets established, cash-generating, small to mid-market businesses, which are positioned to benefit from the structural shift toward lower-carbon and electrified supply chains.
Through this investment, KSB will partner with management to support MI’s next phase of growth, including investment in systems, operational capability and expansion initiatives, while leveraging the business’ strong market position and exposure to ongoing electrification trends.
KSB engaged BDO’s deal advisory and tax teams, led by Greg Ellis, Avkash Patani and Matt O’Bryne, to provide tax and financial due diligence, structuring and transaction documentation support services throughout the transaction.
