In this edition, we look at the top ten areas that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) will be focussing on in their reviews of 31 December 2013 financial reports, as well as ASIC’s consultation paper on presentation of financial statements by entities that are part of a stapling arrangement. We also look at recent guidance issued by the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) to assist not-for-profit entities to apply the consolidation principles included in AASB 10 Consolidated Financial Statements.
