NDIS Readiness Report 2016

30 June 2016

Chris Skelton , Consultant, Not-For-Profit |

The critical nature of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has been described as the largest investment in human services that current generations will see in their lifetime – and at full implementation is expected to exceed $22 billion in funding each year.

The scheme represents a fundamental shift in how Australian’s living with a disability engage with service providers, and is designed to promote and encourage choice and more active participation in many different aspects of everyday life.

To gauge the readiness of Queensland’s disability providers and provide a meaningful and useful roadmap for their path to full NDIS implementation, BDO conducted the NDIS Readiness Survey in the first quarter of 2016.

The results of the survey are now available and they put a spotlight on six prominent challenges facing providers. We’re pleased to be able to offer further insight into the NDIS readiness journey that many organisations are currently undertaking and to share both quantitative and qualitative findings from our engagement with the not-for-profit sector.
