BDO expands Perth corporate finance team

BDO has strengthened its Western Australian corporate finance capability with the appointment of experienced dealmaker Emma Wright as Partner in Perth.

Emma brings more than 25 years’ experience across corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and transaction advisory, having advised on more than 100 transactions spanning mining services, industrials, agribusiness, financial services, healthcare, telecommunications and technology sectors.

Her appointment further expands BDO’s corporate finance offering in Western Australia, particularly across the mid-market, where businesses continue to pursue growth, succession planning and strategic capital opportunities in an increasingly complex operating environment.

BDO Perth Office Managing Partner, James Massie-Taylor, said Emma’s appointment reflected continued momentum in Western Australia’s deal and investment landscape.

“Emma brings deep commercial experience and an outstanding track record advising businesses through high-stakes transactions and strategic growth opportunities,” James said.

“Her experience across M&A, capital raising and transaction advisory significantly strengthens our capability in the mid-market, particularly across sectors that continue to see strong investor and strategic interest in Western Australia.”

Emma said BDO’s entrepreneurial client base and collaborative culture were key drivers behind her decision to join the firm.

“There is enormous opportunity in the WA market, particularly for mid-market businesses seeking practical, commercially focused advice as they navigate growth, investment and transaction activity,” Emma said.

“What attracted me to BDO was the firm’s strong client relationships, collaborative culture and genuine focus on helping businesses create long-term value.”

James said BDO continued to invest in senior capability across Western Australia as demand for advisory services evolved.

“We are continuing to see strong demand from businesses seeking trusted advisers who can help them navigate increasingly complex transactions and strategic decisions,” he said.

“Emma’s appointment is another important step in strengthening our corporate finance capability and supporting clients through every stage of growth.”
