Darren Stacey is an authorised credit representative 519665 of BDO Corporate Finance Ltd (ACN 010 185 725) Australian Credit Licence 245513.

Darren is an Advisory Partner with BDO in Brisbane.

He has spent 10 years in commercial banking building relationships with many people from industries such as legal, banking, finance, property and business services.

Darren has experience in structuring transactions for listed corporate entities in the ASX S&P 200, for unlisted property syndicates, primary and syndicated construction facilities for office, retail and apartment developments. This included negotiation and discussion with a large number of stakeholders, including sponsors, developers, builders, solicitors, government & semi-government authorities, valuers and other banks.

During this time Darren had a range of development and investment lending experience in Victoria, the ACT, Queensland and New Zealand.

During the market dislocation of the 2008-2010 period Darren moved into support and restructuring work for Lloyds Banking Group clients. He continued this work, most recently with Suncorp as the national head of the Banking Recovery team from 2012-2016. This work covered clients from the full spectrum of industry.

With a passion and desire to assist with companies in need of restructuring due to financial distress, Darren is a past Chair of the Queensland chapter of the Turnaround Management Association and sits as a Director on the Board.

In addition to Darren’s background in lending, he is experienced in identifying the early warning signs of financial distress, financial restructuring, understanding the requirements and obligations of financiers and the legal framework for financial services. This provides the perfect foundation for identifying solutions for many of the companies facing financial issues.

Darren joined BDO as Executive Director in 2016 to work with existing clients of the firm, and those of our banker and lawyer colleagues and their clients.  Backed by BDO's complete service offering and industry knowledge, Darren's experience will add to the capacity of the Advisory team to assist in any situation.
